Adam P. Birkhold is a Partner with Birkhold & Maider with more than 20 years of experience handling personal injury, workers’ compensation, and insurance-related matters. Before forming the firm, he worked as staff counsel for an insurance company, and he now uses what he learned about how claims are evaluated and defended to represent injured individuals.
Why Adam represents injured people
I started my career handling insurance defense matters, which gave me valuable insight into how insurance companies evaluate and defend claims. I am grateful for that experience and everything I learned from it, but I found representing injured people considerably more rewarding. I enjoy helping people navigate a very difficult time in their lives and applying what I learned on the insurance defense side to advocate for them.

My job is to be a zealous advocate for my clients and make sure they are well represented throughout the process. I want to ensure that we maximize everything to which they are entitled, whether that means obtaining appropriate medical treatment, securing benefits during the case, or achieving the best possible compensation at the conclusion of the matter.

Adam has handled thousands of workers’ compensation matters and thousands of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, slip-and-fall and premises liability cases, and other injury claims. He has extensive experience in the Superior Court of New Jersey, the Appellate Division, and workers’ compensation courts in multiple New Jersey counties. Before forming Birkhold & Maider, he had his own practice representing injured individuals in personal injury and workers’ compensation matters.
